Most people are aware of the common male archetypes: Alpha, and Beta, with Sigma recently entering the list although it is not being taken seriously. The main source of this archetypical listing has its origins generally around the PUA “redpill” sphere and has been used by men of a right-wing bent.
The main problem I have with these archetypes is, that it’s too woman-centered. Alpha means having a lot of chicks, Beta means having no chicks, Sigma means being mysterious and getting chicks, etc. The biggest disservice men do to themselves is to try to understand themselves mainly through their successes with women. This is why the list I made will instead look at things from a different perspective of how these different types interact with society and each other while also using some terms that people know of but in a manner that brings them to the real purpose.
Some people like to criticize these things as “male astrology” and stuff like that, my intention is not to make up categories and ask “so which one are you?” I want you to look at it from the perspective of how different kinds of men interact with society and how they try to do things and what behaviors they exhibit both publicly and privately.
Final note, some of these archetypes can overlap with each other though I didn’t state which ones do and which ones don’t. For instance an Alpha can’t be Beta, they are fundamental opposites. But a Normie can also be a Beta at the same time.
Alpha: Is good at playing society’s rules and using them to his advantage. Exhibits high-quality characteristics proper to his sex and captivates others due to that. Donald Trump is in my opinion a very good illustration of a modern-day Alpha.
Beta: Plays the rules of the society, but unlike the Alpha who attempts to use it to his advantage, the beta thinks of such restrictions as his patron deity and remains in the matrix, making himself a slave to it as a result. Think of the workplace tattle talers or online jannies as the perfect example of beta, most of the time they end up working for people that despise them, which is also why most simps are Betas.
Sigma: Lives outside of society, so he is not beholden to its rules though this avoidance also means he doesn’t get its benefits unless he willingly chooses to participate in aspects of it in his own way. Some assume that a prerequisite of being a Sigma is to be successful according to the rules and evaluations of society, which is what makes him a lot more exotic than the Alpha at times since the Sigma’s approach is unorthodox. However, his desire to be led by himself as opposed to the overarching norms, codes and laws might lead him to a path of goodness of his own will, but can also lead him to a path of evil. An important note to make is that just because he does things his way, does not mean that he necessarily rejects morality, ethics, and such, but in most circumstances, it does mean that they do not care enough about it. Lou Bloom from Nightcrawler is a good example of a Sigma.
Normie: Too caught up in the matrix to be alpha, too much self-respect to be a beta. A normie is the hidden majority of society that consumes popular content, most of the time without question. Does not think outside of what the matrix offers, however they have a decent grasp of how things are done within the matrix, and as such many of them have respectable hobbies, though not all.
Incel: Shunned by society and deemed worthless by many people, either implicitly or explicitly which causes most Incels to have some form of resentment towards society. He has failed the rules of society in many ways (though not necessarily all) and thinks that most of the reason why he is in this situation is due to external reasons that are beyond his control, some are right to assume that. As a result, the Incel sees the world from a very different perspective than most, for some Incels this means that they manage to have rare insights into the nature of the world, for others they suffer from confirmation bias and end up in a state of self-fulfilling prophecy of negativity, self-hatred, and delusion. Hikigaya Hachiman is a good example of an Incel who was very insightful in spite of his negative personality, he eventually achieves Normaldom in the end. I think there are enough examples of Incels turned bad that we can speak of such as Elliot Rodger.
Normal: Has a lot of the positive aspects of the different archetypes while managing to reduce the negatives and can be considered as some sort of a “jack of all trades” which means that although he has some basic characteristics from most or all of the archetypes he's not necessarily defined by any of them. The normal understands the value of social cohesion (Normie), and follows the rules of society (Beta) while using them to uphold and raise himself (Alpha), simultaneously acknowledging that he must control his own destiny (Sigma). He even has some understanding of the Incel and Autist worldviews. The Normal generally does accept a cynical outlook on the world as something possible but does not allow it to take control of him negatively, in this regard he is surprisingly more open-minded than most, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he tolerates ideas he considers to be wrong. His main struggle is maintaining hope and faith and managing a delicate balance in his life so as to not fall into despair. I think Mel Gibson as a person fits the bill quite well.
Autist: The most potentially dangerous personality type, both for the Autist and the people surrounding him. The Autist usually thinks that he is the smartest, but generally speaking, he cannot be reasoned with because he lives in his own world. For all of the admirable qualities he may have, he ruins it with his arrogance, immaturity, and inability to channel it for a good purpose. Instead, he lets his passions control and dictate him resulting in impulsive behavior. As such, even if the Autist can make friends, he cannot maintain them for long because he either eventually steps way out of line and people around him lose patience with him, or he simply does not value the relationship until it’s gone. Either the Autist like the Incel blames external circumstances, or he realizes that he is fundamentally broken which allows him to enter the path of normalhood. I’d give examples but you’ll probably find one easily online.
